HIROSHIMA
Today I was in Hiroshima inside the Peace-Park and Atomic-Bomb-Dome and the Peace-Memorial.
I really dont know what to say. It was the only place which was not on my list, but everybody said,
I must go there and visit. And it was really breath-taking in a bad way. I was really close to get tears.
Even the name of the train-station was the pure horror and my body was shaking. "Next station: The Atomic Bomb Dome!"
Unbelievable. The whole thing is so crazy. Exspecially that still today so many countries have the a-bomb.
In only 1 minute from 350.000 people, 140.000 has been killed on 6 of August 1945. At the end of the year 1945
the number was rised up to 170.000. Every year there are still 2500 victims dieing - > SINCE 1945 !!!
You can not see today how the city was damaged. But you still see too many people at the street, which are
damaged, handycapt, without eyes or crazy handnails. Some have to use wheel-chairs.
The peace-park and all the school-children and the Japanese teachers and guides were so full of hope there.
But at the end of the Museum you see that still today the big countries are manufacturring atomic-bombs:
USA, Great Britain, France, Israel, China, Russia, India and Pakistan. Those are the only ones.
And every year on 6 of August the survivors meet here, hold a sit-in and silent minute, to demonstrate
agsinst war, against the atomic-bomb and everything more than that.
I think you also should just let the pictures speak.
It was a big horror for me. See that city before and after the war.
Seeing all the materials they found in the damaged "houses", nothing left.
Some people had a burning into the skin of their Kimono. Some just lost the hairs.
But some of them lost everything what they have.
It was not a Taifun, not an earthquake, it was a military bomb for civilians.
