Here now you get the pictures of my first day-trip to the 12 Mio. people city of Tokyo.
I have a 7-days "Japan-Rail-Pass" for 200 Euro. With this ticket you are able
to drive around Japan whereever and whenever you want.
You can take any bus or train and even the fast Shinkansen-trains (bullet-trains).
I was wondering on my first tour (starting 7 o clock, arriving-time back in Niigata was 21.00 h)
how many rivers they have here, how many mountains, how many tunnels and even more forest than I thought.
The trains are very clean and right in the minute. You can find symbols on the trainstation at which point
the train stops. You know allready before the train arrives where you will find your reserved seat, because
waggon 10 stops at wagon 10. And the door is exactly there where it is shown on the floor.
After the train arrives anywhere and everyone steps out, all the Japanese people take their own trash
and bring outside at the trainstation into the different trash-cans for plastic, paper and so on....
Really amazing for me. Because no-where else at the big station in Tokyo (Shinjuku-station is the biggest in the world
with the highest frequence of any other train-station...). Tokyo is very quite and clean. Even if there are so
many people living here and working as well. Tokyo is the most expensive city in the world.
The train was taking 2 hours from Niigata to Tokyo because of the fast speed and many tunnels.
From 10 to 19.00 h I walked around the steet and watched every important place.
In this 9 hours I didnt it, because I had no time for it, I visited no toilet or took any seat.
I dont know why and how, but I was so confused by all these impressions and actions
so that I had no time for eating. Only from time to time I used coin-machines for drinks.
But thats all.
NOw here the pictures of the day:
